I'm still alive and I have a lot to tell you and show...but at the moment I'm working the next 3 weeks double full time so time is precious and almost non existing!

I promise to return soon! I have some awesome pics to show and even some new purchases;) Outfit posts are going to be rare here, since I work as a waitress, and my outfits consists of a black tee and probable black sweats and a apron...

REN = reindeer or clean in swedish. Also a product I bought a week ago. Muy expensivo, holy shit! But the only thing the pharmacy had that didn't include any of that nasty shit they put in cremes, you know, like perfume and sulfates. In denmark the selection is somewhat wide, and I used Derma's Eco day creme, that costs around 80kr. Well this REN facial creme cost me 44€! It better work it's magic and show some results!

Blog vacation

Hello sweets!

I'm well aware that I have been absent, and that I took this tiny vacation without telling you. Well, now I'm back :) And I'm going to try and blog again at least 6 times a week. Coz lets face it, I've actually missed blogging!

Now for the reason for my absence; I told you that a new chapter of my life has started. My roommate is moving to Australia for 7 months, and that meant that we had to move out of our beloved trailer-trash apartment on Vesterbro, CPH. That sucked. So I decided to move back to Finland for a while. And since I came here last Wednesday, it has been one long nightmarish never ending day. On Sunday evening, when the circus was over, I was tired. My brother had his party and I was beat. So Monday I spent with the last guests and taking pictures of my brother for his thank you cards, and today I slept late and ran errands.

Now the next step is to find a job, something that should make me rich. Or rich enough for the next step.

The plan for the future is to take a longer trip, starting somewhere in december in the Down Under area, continuing via Fiji to Japan, and from Japan to Bangkok where I'm supposed to travel all the way down to Bali and onward to Borneo.

It more than sucked to leave CPH, coz I really love that city, and I love all the people there. But I think I will succeed more in the money saving thingy I'm supposed to do, here.

But 'nuf with the sentimentality. For now, I'm concentrating on dreaming and saving money.

I have been on the look out for something like a military green, or even army camouflaged jacket. A simple, not too tight kind of thing. And Wednesday I overcame my fear (which is coming home with the entire store) and went into Prag; the best vintage shop in Vesterbro. Hell, I might even say it's the best vintage in town! And after trying not to look to much at other lovely (sequenced) things, I found 2 jackets, and ended up coming home with one. Score!

Or the jacket cost me 340kr, which is a bit over my normal budget for a old and used mens jacket, but hey, the time saved when having to look for something similar in a cheaper price range was worth it. Lets face it. I REALLY wanted it, so I HAD to buy it. Simple, easy. Now I'm an urban army girl. Or something.

Yes the flag shall be removed, fear not!

Those who know me know that the the color my heart truly beats for is black, when it comes to my wardrobe anyways. Sure I have colorful items, but those are more seasonal, and maybe just a sad try to add color, coz I think it's cool on other people... But if I were to decide only one color for my closet it would without a doubt be black!

This is why I agree with 99komma9, this is the perfect outfit! This is how I really would like to dress everyday... Too bad I don't have that gorgeous Rick Owens leather jacket, or that to die for PS bag... The shoes are fab too! Oh well, one can always dream!

We went to see Aqua at Tivoli tonight, and they delivered a fairly good concert. We heard almost all the good old Aqua, like Barbie Girl and Dr. Jones and so on, but we also got an introduction to what is to expect from the new Aqua. They ended the concert with their new up and coming single; "Fuck me like a robot"... In a way I'm amazed that after just hearing it once the melody and the lyrics are stuck to my head and I catch myself singing it all night... but then I realize what I'm actually singing, and then I'm not loving it all that much...or something. So maybe I like it, maybe I don't, but before deciding upon if I do or not, I can just think of it as..hmm..catchy at the least. Oh well...

But the one song I've grown quite fond of is this one;

I stumbled across some pictures of this fab camera bag from Kipling, and it immediately caught my attention! It is very rarely that I see a camera bag that actually is nice, like in fashionable, so this idea to make a real camera bag, that design wise doesn't look like your average Japanese tourist's bag, is a great idea! I often don't take my camera with me, because the bag is both inconvenient and ugly...

This just leaves me wanting this bag even more!!! And the good news is that it's limited edition, so not everyone will walk around with the same one. The bad news is that of course it was sold out long before I even heard of it.

Hopefully they will design some new ones soon... I need a bag that is bigger than this one, to fit extra lenses, flashes and what not. Fingers crossed!

5 minutes after I got home yesterday, the doorbell rang. "Hello Julie, I have a package for you". And when I opened the door the most yummy delivery guy stood there, holding a Nelly.com package. I didn't know what to be more excited about, having a very attractive man in some kind of uniform standing in my door, or the fact that he was holding my new Nelly Suri shoes.

I grabbed the package (well not a package, MY shoe package, I am a lady after all) and tried them on at once. You like?

Now I want them in black too...damit!

Now I have two reasons to order something from Nelly.com...hehehe...hint hint hint.

Friday I ran to H&M to see if they had the FAA vest for sale. I'm poor, and will therefor not pay full price for it when I kwon that soon enough it will be put down to 499dkk from 999dkk.

It's already on sale online, but damit they don't have it in my seize! If I had time today I'd go and check it out, but I have my exam today so it will have to be tomorrows sorrows... together with having to use up some other gift certificates :)

Dinner for two - Italian style

I love cooking, but it's boring to make dinner for only myselfself. My roommate was out, so I called up Tanja to hear if she wanted to join me in my attempts to be Italian for one night. I started out wanting to make a real salmon lasagna, which I did. I also eded up serving a starter and a dessert. I am a very good friend, I know.

My starter was the easiest, but simply most delicious starter ever; buffalo mozzarella rolled in parma ham, topped with sesame oil and pepper, served with some lettuce and avocado. The whole thing sang, I love it! How can something so tasteful be so yummy?!

And then for mains I served the salmon-spinach lasagna, and a hell of a lasagna it was! Use mascarpone and parmesan instead of those ready bought "lasagna sauces"... then it actually tastes like a real lasagna!

Tomato soup recipe - Bon Appetit

Tomato soup a la Julie. Thought I might share this one with you.

It was, in my opinion, one of the best tomato soups I've ever made.

So if you want to make it, you'll need;

- 5-6 firm red tomatoes, chopped

- 1 red bell pepper, chopped

- 2 medium seized onions, chopped

- Garlic, and lots of it! I used 5 cloves

- 1 red chili, finely chopped

- 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, organic if possible

- 1 dl of water

- Fresh basil, a handfull

- Fresh rosemary, 1 tbs

- Fresh coriander, 1 tbs

- 1 tbs pesto

- 2 tsp oregano

- 2 tsp thyme

- Salt & Pepper

- 2,5dl cooking cream (I used a 4% fat)

- 150g mascarpone

Do like this;

- Fry the chopped tomatoes in oil, together with the garlic. Let the tomatoes fry for about 5 minutes until they are soft and smashed. Add the basil, onions, chili and the bell pepper. Let boil for 3 minutes while stirring.

- Add the canned tomatoes, water, rosemary, thyme, coriander, pesto, oregano. Let simmer for another 10 minutes, while stirring once in a while. Then add salt and pepper, of your own liking.

- Turn off the heat, and with the help of a hand blender, blend the soup, until it becomes even colored and creamy.

- Add the cooking cream and then let simmer for 5 minutes on low heat. Then add the mascarpone and stir well. Let simmer for another couple of minutes. Taste and see what's missing. Adjust with salt and pepper.

Serve with e.g. mozzarella and croutons, preferably home made :)

The reason for my absence...

I have not had anything interesting to write here. It's hard being inspired when you live in a mess, walk around in grandma panties and sweats, if you even bother changing from your pajamas at all that is, were the days melt into one looong boring sunday afternoon from the 40's, and where your brain has taken the form of an overcooked omelet...

But now I'm done, I have handed in the mess I've written, and my faith is now in the hands of one teacher and one unknown person. The final step is to have an oral exam, and then I'm done with KEA. MutherfuckingDONE!

Can't say that it has been a pleasure, or a learning experience for that matter, but an experience non the less. I've learned the one thing I already knew from before. Schools not for me. Oh KEA how you've proved my point!

'Nutty shrimp

Home (deep) fried shrimp.

Bubba would have loved these!

Perfect as appetizer or snack. Very yummy!

You'll need:

- x amounts of big prawns

- 2 tbs of coconut flour

- 1,5 tbs of wheat flour

- 1 egg

- 1 tbs of water

- 1 garlic clove, finely shopped

- 1 tbs lime juice

- chili powder

- oil for frying

Peel the prawns and only leave the tail (if you prefer it with a tail). Whip the egg fluffy. Mix all of the ingredients together; coconut, flour, water, garlic, lime juice and chili powder. Heat the oil in a deep pan or wok, until it's really hot. Dip the prawns in the egg, and then in the flour mix and cover well. Place them in the oil to fry. Remember to turn them in the oil, so they get an even golden color on both sides. Frying time around 2 minutes per prawn, depending on seize. When they are ready, place them on some kitchen roll, to soak up the excess oil, so they become crispy. Serve with e.g. sweet chili sauce.

Cooking time ca. 15 minutes.

Medicine for the soul

Yup, I'm talking about chocolate mousse. And here's the recipe for the worlds easiest dessert.

You'll need:

- 8 past. egg yolks

- 200g of semi dark chocolate

- 1tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder

- 4dl of whipped cream

- 75g of sugar

- Take a clean and dry bowl (very important that it is totally dry) and mix the sugar with the egg yolks, until they are fluffy.

- Whip the cream in a separate bowl, and not too stiff.

- Melt 80% of the chocolate in a bowl that you put over boiling water, so it melts very slowly. Save a couple of pieces for decoration. When the chocolate has melted, mix the rest of the chocolate in so that it "cools down".

- When you have melted all the chocolate, mix the chocolate with the egg yolk-sugar mix until even, then add the whipped cream and mix it all together with a wooden spoon. When the mixture is almost even, add the cocoa powder to add color, and mix well.

- Place the mix in a big serving bowl, or portion it in smaller bowls according to the amount of servings needed, and place in the fridge to set for a couple of hours.

- Serve with shredded chocolate and berries.

Bulldog, or whatever crazy animal print I'm going to find, -chairs. Awesome. This could have been me doing this, but Sarah was first. Damn you, now I have to do the copycat;)

Easy food - perfect for sundays

A pasta dish, that doesn't need much preparation.

I came home after being at the gym, and looked desperately in the fridge to see if I could ourselves a decent dinner of some sort. I saw we had fresh spinach pasta, so that became the key ingredient. I took out half a box of mushrooms, sliced them together with some spring onion and some garlic. I fried them on a pan together with some bacon, and added pepper and some pesto. When the bacon was done I added some cooking creme (Milda Creme Fine 4%), some milk and 2 table spoons of sour-creme in to the mushroom mix. Meanwhile I had the pasta boiling, and since it only need about 5 minutes max to get done, this dish is so fast to make. When the pasta was done the sauce had been boiling for a minute or two and was pretty much done too.

Carlsberg just released two new products, and in celebration of that I was so lucky to be invited, together with Maria, to a release event in the city of Carlsberg. I must admit, even though I live very close to Carlsberg, I have never been there. It's amazing! It's like a small city built around a brewery, and the buildings are gorgeous, both inside and outside.

Anyways, yesterday Carlsberg launched their new soft drink BEO (latin for something like enjoyment/pleasure...?). It is a brewed soft drink, that comes in two flavors. No added sugar, only the sugar of the fruit itself, and no added carbon dioxide! And with a very low alcohol of 0.2% it is perfect for those days you want to enjoy something else than the regular cokes and sprites, without turning to the alcohols.

I must say, I was quite impressed! The taste is really good and the calorie level is quite low. It's nice to look at, you know, like in a champagne glass, and it's not too sparkly, meaning you burp less. Win-Win. I think, here in denmark, it's almost one of a kind, not resembling any of the sugary sodas, cyntethic ciders of alcoholic beverages. I recommend every one to try it! The apple-grean tea is my favorite!

They also launched a new beer type, a beer unlike everything else! Velvet Ale. A wheat beer, that doesn't taste like wheat beer... It's supposed to get the beer haters do drink beer, and if you are one of those haters, try it! It's not bitter like other beers and has a sweet but very distinctive taste. I like it! Well that's not hard, since I'm a beer lover, but I think it's good. Different but good.

P.S This is not a sales speech, I have not been told what to say or how to write. I truly was, and am, very pleasantly surprised by these product, and the event itself. A big thumbs up from my side! Just to be clear ;)

Lipstick mania

So home with me from Topshop came these yummy lipsticks. Or one of them is a lipstick, and the other is more like a lip "pen". But they both rock.

The lipstick is in the color OHH LA LA, and is more shiny and pinky peachy-ish, while the lip "pen! is in the color RAPTUROUS and totally matte and more like a red gone orange.

They also had a very screaming orange in the lipstick (shinier) version, and I'm kinda bummed now that I didn't buy that one too. Now my collection is nearly full.

The bikini season has officially started!

So not only do I stress about other stuff, now I have to worry about this to!? Man, I never get a break... Or you know, I promised myself that this year (like I do every year) would be the year I got in shape, so I wouldn't be a big ball of shame walking around flashing my pale blubbery self when daring to take off that extra layer of clothing, revealing a bikini... And what do you know, another year passed by, and I have yet again managed not only to gain weight, but to simply do SQUAT about getting into shape! And so again I'm left feeling all disappointed and yes, ashamed. Booo me.

My goal for this summer was, to be able to wear a laced top over a bikini, without feeling self conscious. Coz that's one of my favorite trends this summer, laced-white-grandma-boho chic. But I guess I'm gonna skip on that one... All ya skinny hos, rock them for me will ya?!

I know this is what you are supposed to look like, and I wouldn't mind, trust me (!!), but my reality is just too far away from it. If this is what you are up against you might as well just give up. Being normal is never going to be good enough... Damn you hot Megan Fox, you just ruin it for everybody!

Anyways, I took a leap of faith and bough a bikini, in the hopes of a miracle happening when I put it on. So far nothing, but if you don't have hope, then what do you have;)?
My newest edition in my bikini collection is from H&M (where else?) and cost me in total 100dkk. (That's 50kr a piece for all you clever heads). It's cool and funky, and not suited for my body type at all, but whatevs, I love it. Here goes.

American style blueberry pancakes

Well lets start this morning off with a recipe.

Blueberry pancakes. You know you want them (I know I do!).

Here's what you need;

- 3dl of flour

- 2,5dl of skimmed milk or buttermilk

- 1 big egg

- 1 tsp of baking powder

- 1 tbsp of sugar

- 1 tsp of vanilla sugar

- a pinch of salt

- 25 g of melted cooled butter

- Blueberries, frozen or fresh

And here's how you make them;

- Whip the egg slightly fluffy

- Mix all the ingredients together, except for the blueberries, in a bowl, until the mixture has a even texture. It is supposed to be quite sticky and not too "watery".

- Heat the frying pan and heat some butter on it.

- Put a big tablespoon of dough on the hot pan, evening it out a bit so it's thick and round, but not too thin.

- Place as many blueberries as you want in the dough, and cover with a bit of dough. Let it fry for a minute or two, and flip when it's nice and golden in color.

- Repeat until all the dough is used up and you have pancakes for about 4-6 people.

- Serve with fresh blueberries and maple sirup or (brace yourselves) Nutella.

Yesterday the weather was so nice that my friends dragged me along for a little shopping. Inside.

We went from RUDE to Beadhouse, then to Topshop and then to H&M. That's al we could make it to, before mine and Lenas tummies were roaring for something to eat. So we went and sat by the canals and ate sushi in the late afternoon sun. Awesomeness I tell you! I would have documented it all but my batterie gave up on my camera so no pictures. But here's what I managed to document; 2 pairs of shoes I'd die for from Topshop and a potential buy for my brothers upcoming party this summer.

"High" jesus sandals. 499kr. I need.

The comfiest high heels I've ever worn! Suede and nice. Must.have.them! 799kr...ouch...

Sorry for the ultra bad quality, I forgot that my camera was on manual focus, not auto so I forgot to focus...plus I was in a hurry. And the angle is all wrong, it looks like my legs are half as short of what they are. Bummer. So that's a lesson on what not to do:) Anyways, this dress is from the Conscious Collection at H&M and is priced at 399kr. It would be very nice for upcoming summer festivities, yes?

Well I ended up buying 2 lipsticks and a bikini instead. Stay tuned.

Saturday was my friend Mie's birthday, and in honor of that she threw a big birthday party. The theme was to come as someone who might be invited to the queens birthday party (because her birthday is the same as the queens), and it was only ones imagination that was the limit. So, I dressed up as a photographer from the gossip magazine Billed Bladet, that in fact has a slogan of being Denmark's royal magazine. How suiting. Well anyways, this is what I looked like. And then also imagine me wearing my camera with that mother fucker of a flash and you have my outfit.

Wohoo, I got some pretty cool stuff for my birthday. Yeah baby. And now I'm gloating in the glory of all my presents, and FORCING you to see what I got.

From Maria I got two books, about two things I love. Fashion and food. A modern Italian cookbook and "Who What Wear", a book of celeberty fashion!

From my aunt I got this cute striped basic top from H&M.

Surprise gift from my friend Simone, who sent me, toghether with a very suspicious mixture of candy, this extra nice, ultra cute lingerie set from DAY Birger & Mikkelsen.

Can you be in-love with lingerie?! I think I am.

My brother (who is 14 btw?!) sent me this Dior mascara, which just happens to be an all time favorite in my beauty box. Also I got a Nilens Jord lipstick from my mom, and I think she nailed spot on the kind of red colors I tend to go for. Both thumbs up!

Mom also sent me these earrings.

And from my parents I also got some monitas, to spend on, yes, bills. How very grown up, but also incredibly dull of me to actually use it on bills, when there were like a million things in COS screaming my name...

I also got a new lens for my camera :) woop woop!

From the guys at work I got a 150kr gift certicicate for Paradis ice cream. I must talk about ice cream, a LOT...?! Hint much...?

And a pair of cool pants from H&M. They are so comfy I think I'm going to live in them until they die. All my tight pants don't seem that appealing now.

(Maybe there is a connection with the humongous ice cream certificate, followed by loose pants...hmmm... 2+2 equals...naaah...)

The flowers were also from Maria!

And Lena, my roomie, had left me (for some other friend who had her birthday on the same day, but that's completely besides the point;) a little surprise. How nerdy can you get, when you actually get excited, in the age of 24, when receiving the lamest edition of the Harry Potter DVD. Yes I'm a nerd, and YES I LOVE IT!!!

Then I also got the leather bag, remember? And I also got a fur jacket from my mom a while back. But I got just in time for the weather to be too hot for a fur jacket, so I'm saving that one for next winter...which better be cold! :)

BD Dinner

As you may have catched up on, friday was my birthday. And therefore I held a dinner. It was rather improvised and out of the blue, since I first thought I'd just stay under my blanket the whole day and not come out until the next morning, but after some thinking through I decided that I love good food too much to let an opportunity like "a fancy dinner" slip away. So over came to (out of 4) of my best friends and this is how it all went down.

Maria was too pretty to open the white Lambrusco, so had to step in;)

Nicely set (trailer-trash) dinner table. Set by Maria. She even brought flowers! I NEVER get flowers! That kinda made my day:)

Since we were to have sushi for our main course, I had to think of something a little Japanese inspired to serve as starters. And since sushi is more like chose and pick-food, I thought that the starter should just be various Japanese snacks.

So home fired coconutty tempura shrimp with a sweet chili sauce, wasabi peas, ebamame-beans with sea salt and Tuna-tempura rolls from FIFTY&FIFTY, was what was served as starters.

The main course then also came from FIFTY&FIFTY. Salmon-ginger roll, devils eye roll and a twisted california roll. Hells to the yeah it was good! I am a sushiholic btw...

And a beef-tataki rice paper roll with a chili drizzle of some sort.

Then time for some champagne (or, erhm, not exactly, it was more like an Asti...). I wore my new Heartmade high wasted and cropped pants, together with a flowery top from Urban Outfitters.

And then for dessert we had double layered chocolate mousse with berries. (This is what Maria requested). It took me forever to make, and the result was not the prettiest, but it was gooood!

I even tried to make some kind of decorations. I'll give my self 9/10 in taste and maybe a 6/10 in appearance.

All in all, pretty good!

The party continued afterwards at Høeg's, from were we dragged our drunk asses home around 5 in the morning. So a hell of a day turned out pretty good after all:) Thx guys for making it special!

GUESS leather stiletto boots. Never worn. They are about seize 37 (I'm a 38 and they're too small, but that might also be coz I have duck feet, and therefor might just be too narrow for me). I bought them in Canada in a GUESS store for about 200 canadian dollars.

Asos gray suede boots, style AMES, which I love, but must again surrender to the wideness of my feet. They are a seize 38 (5) and would probably fit any normal footed person. They are also never worn. You can still buy them on Asos for 683dkk + shipping (but this seize is sold out).

Please bid, or send forward to potential new owners:) Not only in Denmark, but Finland too! It's no problemo getting them over there!
