working 10-02, what a way to make a living!

Hola!
I'm still alive and I have a lot to tell you and show...but at the moment I'm working the next 3 weeks double full time so time is precious and almost non existing!
I promise to return soon! I have some awesome pics to show and even some new purchases;) Outfit posts are going to be rare here, since I work as a waitress, and my outfits consists of a black tee and probable black sweats and a apron...
Now gotta run again!
Laters sweets!

To be continued :)

In the meantime, here's some pics of the chanterelles my mom picked in the forest by our house, resulting in a delicious  pasta sauce (made by me;).

Blog vacation

Hello sweets!
I'm well aware that I have been absent, and that I took this tiny vacation without telling you. Well, now I'm back :) And I'm going to try and blog again at least 6 times a week. Coz lets face it, I've actually missed blogging!
Now for the reason for my absence; I told you that a new chapter of my life has started. My roommate is moving to Australia for 7 months, and that meant that we had to move out of our beloved trailer-trash apartment on Vesterbro, CPH. That sucked. So I decided to move back to Finland for a while. And since I came here last Wednesday, it has been one long nightmarish never ending day. On Sunday evening, when the circus was over, I was tired. My brother had his party and I was beat. So Monday I spent with the last guests and taking pictures of my brother for his thank you cards, and today I slept late and ran errands.

Now the next step is to find a job, something that should make me rich. Or rich enough for the next step.
The plan for the future is to take a longer trip, starting somewhere in december in the Down Under area, continuing via Fiji to Japan, and from Japan to Bangkok where I'm supposed to travel all the way down to Bali and onward to Borneo.

It more than sucked to leave CPH, coz I really love that city, and I love all the people there. But I think I will succeed more in the money saving thingy I'm supposed to do, here.
But 'nuf with the sentimentality. For now, I'm concentrating on dreaming and saving money.

D-O-N-E

The reason for my absence...
I have not had anything interesting to write here. It's hard being inspired when you live in a mess, walk around in grandma panties and sweats, if you even bother changing from your pajamas at all that is, were the days melt into one looong boring sunday afternoon from the 40's, and where your brain has taken the form of an overcooked omelet...
But now I'm done, I have handed in the mess I've written, and my faith is now in the hands of one teacher and one unknown person. The final step is to have an oral exam, and then I'm done with KEA. MutherfuckingDONE!
Can't say that it has been a pleasure, or a learning experience for that matter, but an experience non the less. I've learned the one thing I already knew from before. Schools not for me. Oh KEA how you've proved my point!

Oh lord please let me pass!!!???

Update from loco loco Philippines

So a short little update on wazzup here in the humid hell. Well it's not hell, but sometimes the rain makes me go crazy and I get all negative and stuff, but as soon as the sun shows its all loving and warming face, I'm all happy again.
Well yes, I hear it's the whole of Asia that has been turned upside down, weather wise, so no wonder the weather here is not all what I expected. But it's warm, really warm and humid, (not like in Vietnam where they only have like +13...!?), so we still live in flipflops and shorts.

We where in El Nido for 5 nights, and I guess I would have enjoyed it more if I wouldn't have gotten sick. The woodoo hulabaloo doctor told me it was some very aggressive and eventually quite harmful if not treated- kinda infection ... But I still believe it was just plain-fantastic-always to be counted on-always delightful food poisoning. Because of that I was vomiting all over the place before eight o'clock on new years eve. That pretty much destroyed all the fantastic plans I had imagined for the night, and for the next day and day after that as well. Well let's say the new year was begun with a thorough detoxing, and leave it at that...

Otherwise El Nido was nice, and the scenery in Baicut bay was stunning.
After El Nido we got a minor stroke and decided to fly to Cebu, VIA Manila. But that's how we ended up on Malapascua island north of Cebu. Malapascua, a paradise for divers and sun and sand worshipers, wasn't quite living up to it's potential with the north east monsoon bringing foul weather. So we stayed for only 3 nights, escaping to Puerto Galera, which is were we are now. Very touristy but suites us just fine. We are planning on just relaxing and hopefully enjoying the good weather (among other things).
We fly home on the 18th, so I guess the next update is going to be from an ass freezing Finland, where I'm planning on slowly and painfully suffocate you with picture overload :)
Have a good week, and talk to you soon!
Much love,
Julie

Later! <3

Greetings from a humid paradise

Hi!
So FINALLY I found a place that has a card reader that works...somewhat...:) So now I can make a small update:) Unfortunately this computer is really old..so it takes a looong time to uploead the about 12oo pictures taken so far.
So unfortunately it is impossible to upload pics on these old machines... so text only...

A short description of what I have been up to so far;
We arrived at Puerto Princesa on the 22 of december, where we stayed for 4 nights. We went on a town sightseeing where we found the local beach. We also went Island Hopping, where we discovered that Puerto has more to offer than just dirty streets and fast food. We went to see the underground river in Sabang, a tourist trap, though worth the trouble. We then decided to take a hike through the mountains afterwards. I thought it was a brilliant idea, but after 6,2 km over three mountains on muddy slippery narrow trecking paths (in goddam fllipflops!!) I was near dying... But I did it:)
We also found out that the term rainseason lasts for a lot longer than what the internet tells you... So we have had our share of thunder and rain. But these last couple of days we have had really nice weather so it's all good.
Then we arrived at Port Barton, which is a small fishing village by the cost. We went on a diving trip where A dived and I snorkeled. We ate lunch on some deserted beach and I was pretty much in heaven. We also went to a waterfall deep in the forest which I also enjoyed...quite a lot! When you walk in the forests here you really know you are very, VERY far from home (or at least we don't have monkeys in Fnland/Denmark) .
Port Barton was a fantastic place! We stayed there for 3 nights.

We arrived at El Nido today, and this seems to be a fantastic place as well. We live on the beach and just outside in the water is a magnificent coral reef just waiting to be explored! Tomorrow we will go on a diving tour again, where I will go snorkeling, so that's the plan so far.
Now we are sitting in the "Art Cafe" in El Nido, and things could not get any better.
Now dinner!
Later! (Hajotkaa sinne pakkaseen from A)

Merry Xmas

Merry christmas everyone! <3

Greetings from Palawan, the Philippines:)

Update 1

Hi, and greetings from Puerto Princesa, Palawan:) We have finally reached our "final" destination (or the final for the next 3 days...), after a LONG jurney here. We started in Helsinki, were we flew to Amsterdam. And let me tell you, I was sure that we would be stuck in Amsterdam over Christmas, because of all the snow3 chaos, but I guess that luck was finally on our side! We found our selves in a shabby but quite cute Guesthouse in Manila after three transits in various airports, and that including our baggage! Can you believe it?! Helsinki-Amsterdam-Beijing-Xiamen-Manila and 16 hours later Manila-Puertpo Princesa, and we still have our baggage? Well I can't.. That's because after having visited Beijing airport, I now can add a "Never-again" airport to my list, together with CDG Paris., All i'll say is: you'd thinkt the chinese should be effective?...?! NO! 4 people to change a light and only one pass control person to check 200 people is not my idea of effective n(just to giva an example)!
But anyways, we are safe and secure, and thus far we have used a shit load of money (but isn't that always what you do in the beginning before you get used to things and their prices?) but we are quite satisfied in general. The weather is not quite so optimal  as we'd hoped, but it's warm anyways (+26C at 11PM).
I have no photos to show yet, coz nothing really exciting, other than airportground views or backseats of cabs, have happened.. so... Only text this time :)

And until next time, sorry for the spelling mistakes! I have no spelling corrector here on this 40pesos per hour computer. And god knows I suck at spelling and grammar. Well bare with me.
Over and out. Enjoy the minus degrees:)

Love, Julie

So it begins

Hi! I know it hasn't been the best blogging lately, but there is a reason for that. I have been so busy these days preparing for my upcoming vacation, which by the way starts tomorrow, so there has been little time left for anything else (read: blogging). I have had time to come home to Finland, visit babies, see some friends and catch up, celebrate an early christmas, enjoy somewhat the snow,  and to go to the sauna:)
But long story short, well, it's probably going to be really silent here on the blog from now on and all the way to mid january. I am going to be gone for a whole month, in the Philippines, and since I'm not risking my computer, it stays at home. I don't want to promise updates here and there, since I have no clue if it's even possible to keep that promise... The Philippines doesn't have computers everywhere, and to make matters worse, I have heard that the electricity is very limited! Outch...  But I hope that I will be able to update at least a couple of times, coz I'm eager to share all the experiences with you:)!
So I'm not going to forget you, I'm just warning about the possibility of another blog drought period, or the lack of fashion posts...It will probably be more of a travel blog during, but I hope that's okay.
But I will return, more strong and powerful than ever!

Merry X-mas and a Happy New Year to you all!

Love, Julie

Istan to the Bul

Hola People!

Today is the day that I should already be packed and ready to go, but noooh, I'm still chillin' in my jammies... It's a big day today, coz not only is it J-day (or maybe C-day translated in english...?) but also the day that I have to be at the airport very early tomorrow morning, meaning pretty late tonight = no sleep (well I didn't plan on sleeping either way...). I have to be at the airport no later than 4.30 Am (??!?!) to be ready to take of to Istanbul. Gosh I don't know if I'm still going to be extremely intoxicated or bordering on a very bad hangover... We'll see. I'm not going to miss J-day just because I'm going on a study trip the "next morning", that's for sure.
So I'm going to be gone until Saturday. I have some planned posts for you, no too many but still, coz I'm not so sure I'll be able to update from the land of the Turkish Yoghourt. I'm not bringing my computer; I'm afraid of the smashing and the wrecking... So you will probably be bombed with Istanbul posts when I get back:) Even though I'm pretty pissed that my Nikon d7000 is still not available in stores, I'll do my best on the picture front with my old camera.

Now I'm going to pack... So I can be finished in time for a romantic meal with my roommate. She's making duck with potatoes and sauce, very christmasy, yum! Afterwards we will go out on the town to secure a spot somewhere we can be sure to have a cold christmas beer at 20.59! See you next Saturday!

For those of you who don't know what J-day is; it is the the day the christmas beer comes out, and it is always the first friday in November. You are not allowed to serve it before 20.59, and that's were all hell brakes loose. People running around with fake snow and blue elf-hats...It's really fun, and it seems like people are more festive than on New Years eve! It almost borders to a national holiday. I'll try and take some pictures to show you...

Hi ya'll!

I have not neglected you! I promise! Just bear with me for a while, and I will be up and running in no time!
Quick update. Internship in Finland, takes up most of my time. This is the first time since I came a week ago, that I have had the time to even check my mail. I live with my parents, what a victory huh? But I'm saving up for a new computer...hmmm... I will start updating, just wait and see:) Now good night! Waking up at 7AM everyday just killes me! Yup not a morning person!
Nightynight!<3
Sweet dreams Julie!

I'm sorry!

For my absence... I just have a lot to deal with right now and when I do have time to be on the computer, I'm responding to couch surfing requests and responding to people who want to rent my room..:( Coz yes, on Thursday I will be leaving for my internship in Finland... I will miss Copenhagen SO MUCH, and not only the city, but my friends also. But I hope time will go fast...and hopefully before I get back I have bought a Macbook and a new camera!:) So I have something to look forward to! We'll see how that'll go but thumps up for me everyone! I want to succeed in scraping in the money to buy these things!
And oh yeah, I have not been in the mood for blogging either when I have spent more time at the dentist than at home. Yup 8000kr at the minimum, to get my teeth fixed. Bummer huh? I tried to tell the dentist that if they kept my tooth it would be cheaper but they didn't buy it:( Can you sell wisdoms teeth on the black market...?

She's back!

Hi ya'all, I'm back! I know I have been somewhat absent the last couple of weeks, but I intend to turn it a back around. The reason for my absence is the simple fact that I have been really busy! Not only has it come across here on the blog, but I feel like I have neglected my precious me-time. All work and no play make Julie a dull girl…you get my point. So now, while the laundry is peacefully rotating in the machine, I finally have some time to chill. I made myself one of the most delicious smoothies ever, and sat down by our almost-fallen-apart coffee table, to both watch TV AND to blog. Us girls we do know how to multitask ;) (except for a dear friend of mine….yes, HER!)

My smoothie, tadaa! It may not look like much, but the combination of fresh melon, some frozen strawberries, raspberries and mango, blended with some low-fat peach-raspberry youghurt and some sweetener, is the perfect combination of an extra delicious smoothie. Live it, learn it.

Weekend-fun

So here is an update on what I have done this weekend;

-Thursday: picked up my special friend at the airport, and only 7 hours later than planned. It wasn’t entirely his fault he was late, something with an engine that stopped working in the middle of the flight and I guess they thought that it really was that necessary to turn back. Fine, whatever. But we made it to Fifty Fifty after all, which was the highlight of my weekend. This is simply because Fifty Fifty is the finest sushi restaurant in town, capital letters. And if you didn’t get it, I love sushi.

-Friday: Window shopping and Zara drooling. That you know already. Then we bought some tenderloin steaks from the local butcher. We made dinner, and eating the steak was like having angels sing on your tongue. Maybe that was the highlight of my weekend…? Anyway we ate, had some friends over, drank, played drinking games and got drunk. Some more than others... We went to Idealbar, and then we found out that, no, we still don’t like polka music. We continued next door to Vega, and got disappointed. They promised Claudia Shiffer, but instead they had dirty toilets and ugly English guys. Overall a pretty successful night.
-Saturday: Hangover and watching movies. In the evening we went to eat ribs…mmm…and then we went home to watch some more movies.

-Sunday: Sleeping till noon and blog reading. Then at 3.30 PM I found myself at my waxing ladies place. My dear lord what agony! All access hair was removed and after a while I ended up feeling relieved. (It’s nicer to be hairless and chubby than hairy and chubby…) In the evening we watched Friends and ate a very nice sallad.

Monday, that is today, I dropped my special friend off at the airport. We said our goodbyes after a NICE coffee frappucino.

Then I went to school, snore, and then I went to the doctors’. She described me some pills, let’s see what good they will do for me.

Monday: To be continued...

Swine flu

Dear all, I have been absent again. I have been quite occupied… It all started on Monday. I was at school, doing my thing, but I was feeling extra tired. After school I went to visit some family friends with my dad. We had a great time, we told stories and laughed at the swine flu “epidemic”. When my dad drove me home I was freezing, and by the time I got home my body was acing and I was freezing like a Turkish belly dancer at an Alaskan dog slay race. Anyway, it was all downhill from there. I had an extremely high fever until yesterday, where I actually could get up from my sweaty bed not only to go to the toilet, but also to “cook dinner”. Now I have no fever, I’m still a bit sore and weak, but it should be okay now. From next week I am as good as new. I just wanted to be honest, this time I was not lazy with the updating, just incapable ;)

Update

I had a pretty decent Christmas this year. I went home to Finland for the holidays, and I spent my time in both Tahko and in my hometown, Turku. Tahko is a skiing resort up in the middle part of Finland, where my family spends most of their holidays and days of. It is quite a drive from where they live normally, about 550km, meaning spending at least 6h in the car to get there. But we have made it into a tradition to spend Christmas there as well. As I said earlier, this year went surprisingly well. No bigger arguments, which is very rare since the living space up there is a total of 47m2, which is shared by four people! Anyway, it was nice, freaking cold (-25C’), but nice, and it was fun to take the old snowboard on a downhill ride.
The other half of the 9 days I spent in Finland I spent in Turku, with a special someone. No names necessary. I also met up with some friends, and had a pretty chill time. And by the way, my friend M got a dog! And believe me, it is the cutest! Even though he is a humper… at the early age of 9 weeks. So what? I want a dog!! A female though…
So when I came back home from my holiday, it was time to celebrate New Years Eve. Or this was the case for everybody else, see I had to work. I had a job at this shitty restaurant, and I offered my self to work on New Years Eve, coz I needed the money. I regret this decision very much now. I’ll just summon it up with some keywords; nasty customers, no breaks, bar fight, flying broken bottles, blood, police, asshole boss…well you get the picture. I no longer work there.
That was just a tiny update on what I have been up to. Now I have been really sick, and I am sick of being sick, and I’m tired of tea! I want to get back in shape, and this being sick is a mayor setback in my new and “healthy” lifestyle. Sickness go away, I demand you!!

So with no job and no money, I continue my journey in hopes of beckong Americas next top model! No...in hopes of one day becoming a successful person :)

Fear not!

Greetings all of you (one person + me;) who reads this. I’m BACK! Hahaa I know I haven’t been too active, but mark my words, from now on, I will do my very best to update. :)
Okay so now when that’s settled, I can continue babbling on about stuff that matter.
